On November 4, 1983, Donald H. Major, a 49-year-old former mayor and prominent businessman from Kilbourne, Louisiana, vanished while piloting his blue and white single-engine Cessna 177 Cardinal airplane. Major, a graduate of Kilbourne High School and an attendee of Louisiana State University, had extensive farming interests in both Louisiana and Arkansas.
