Lewis Guy Thornton, age 59, was last seen on August 19, 2022, in Jones County, Mississippi. He was reportedly walking in the Burnt Bridge Road area within the Pendorff community. Thornton was in the company of his red and white pit bull terrier mix named Big Head, who was known to be his constant companion. His family has stated that the dog was not aggressive.
At the time of his disappearance, Thornton had a campsite located on Tallahome Creek. This campsite was later found abandoned.
