On the evening of October 9, 1976, 17-year-old Alfred Elmer Hoffman Marshal and his date, Teresa Gossage, disappeared from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Both were students at Waynesville High School and the children of officers stationed at the military base. They were last seen at 7:30 p.m. in Alfred's car and were never heard from again.
