Twelve-year-old Sheryl Denise Taylor was last seen in Picher, Oklahoma, on July 20, 1978, between 7:15 and 7:30 p.m.. Her mother had sent her to a local grocery store, but it is unclear if she ever made it inside. Sheryl was seen standing across the street from the store, in front of a gate leading to a condemned four-block area.
