In the summer of 2022, concern grew for the well-being of 36-year-old William Curtis Stramp. He was last seen by his mother at her home in Keller, Texas, on July 12, 2022. The following day, his white Honda was discovered abandoned at a convenience store in Laguna Park, a community in Bosque County. Surveillance footage showed that the vehicle had arrived at the minimart at approximately 4:45 in the morning. After he was reported missing, the Bosque County Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation into his disappearance. Despite efforts by law enforcement, which included conducting a number of searches, the case remained open for over two years with no sign of William. Investigators looked into his last known activities and followed up on any information received, but the trail seemed to have gone cold. The discovery of his abandoned car was the last significant lead for some time, leaving his family and the community awaiting answers. The investigation remained active throughout this period as authorities continued their search for the missing man. A breakthrough in the case came on September 16, 2024, when employees with the Army Corps of Engineers discovered a human bone near the base of a cliff by the Whitney Dam. A further search of the remote and difficult-to-access area revealed more human remains. Alongside the remains, investigators found various articles of clothing and a wallet that contained William Stramp's identification. While the remains were sent for positive identification, the Bosque County Sheriff's Office stated that foul play was not suspected. Based on evidence and statements from his family, authorities indicated that they believe he may have intended to take his own life. The discovery brought a somber conclusion to the long search for William, providing some measure of closure to a case that had puzzled investigators for more than two years.
