In the spring of 2009, a 20-year-old woman named Nicole Sherese Cearo vanished from Seattle, Washington, leaving behind a life marked by hardship and a case that remains shrouded in uncertainty. Last seen on March 30, 2009, Nicole, who was pregnant at the time, was at a vulnerable point in her life. She had recently been evicted from her apartment and was navigating a tumultuous relationship with her boyfriend, Roosevelt Montgomery Jr. Just days before she went missing, on March 28, Nicole was arrested for violating a no-contact order that was in place to protect her from Montgomery. Despite the restraining order, it was Montgomery who picked her up from the King County Jail on the morning of March 30. After her release, Nicole visited her mother and later, some friends, appearing visibly bruised and frightened while asking for money. The last confirmed sighting of her was later that evening in the Skyway area, where she was seen getting into a vehicle with Montgomery. The days following Nicole's disappearance were filled with growing concern. Her pastor, who managed her monthly public assistance checks, became alarmed when she failed to collect her April payment and reported her missing. Nicole’s mother had wanted to contact the police earlier but hesitated due to her own outstanding warrants, entrusting the pastor to make the report. The investigation into Nicole's whereabouts soon took a dark turn. On April 9, Roosevelt Montgomery Jr. was arrested while driving a stolen Ford F-250 pickup truck. This was the same truck he had been driving on the day Nicole disappeared. When questioned about her, Montgomery denied knowing her whereabouts and claimed he was also looking for her. A search of the stolen vehicle, which had sustained significant damage, uncovered some of Nicole's personal belongings, including her birth certificate and Social Security card. Despite the troubling circumstances and Montgomery's connection to her last known moments, the case has remained without a definitive resolution. Authorities have stated their belief that Nicole was a victim of a homicide, and the case was eventually assigned to homicide detectives. There were reports that Montgomery had allegedly bragged about killing her and disposing of her body in the Seward Park area, but a lack of sufficient evidence has prevented any charges from being filed in connection with her disappearance. Investigators conducted searches for Nicole, but their efforts have not led to her discovery. Since she went missing, there has been no activity on her public assistance benefits or her Social Security number. The case of Nicole Sherese Cearo is a heartbreaking story of a young woman who disappeared under suspicious circumstances, and while foul play is strongly suspected, the absence of key evidence has left her loved ones without answers and her case unsolved.
