In the early summer of 2022, 48-year-old Witold Robert Lukanus embarked on a new chapter in his life, one that would see him build a cabin on a piece of property he had recently purchased near the picturesque town of Homer, Alaska. Sometime during the last week of June or the first week of July, he chartered a Maritime Aviation helicopter to transport him to his remote land.
