Cristina Ester Ruiz-Rodriguez was last seen on May 21, 2006, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. At the time of her disappearance, she was 13 years old, although some sources state her age as 14. Ruiz-Rodriguez, who has a pierced tongue and speaks both Spanish and English, was living with her grandparents when she vanished during the night and has not been heard from since. She was reportedly wearing pajamas at the time of her disappearance.
At the time she went missing, Ruiz-Rodriguez was known to socialize with people in online chat rooms. Authorities believe she may have been a victim of Amilcar Matias Torres, a suspected serial killer. Torres is also a suspect in the disappearances of two other young women, Yeritza Aponte-Soto and Kamyle Burgos Ortiz. He is currently serving a twenty-year prison sentence for soliciting sex from several teenage girls he met on the internet.
Despite the suspicions, Amilcar Matias Torres has never been charged in connection with Cristina's case or any other homicides or unsolved disappearances. Ruiz-Rodriguez's case is classified as an endangered missing person, and it is believed she may still be in the local Guayanilla area. Her DNA and dental records are available for identification purposes. Age-progressed photos have been released to show what she might look like as she has gotten older.Last Seen: May 21, 2006
