Diane Marie Aviles Colon was 14 years old when she went missing from her family's home in the Camino Real Condominiums in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. She was last seen at 5:30 a.m. on September 9, 1999. Authorities believe that she left of her own accord and may have traveled to San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, after her disappearance. Born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, Diane is classified as an endangered runaway.

At the time of her disappearance, Diane was described as a Hispanic female, 5'5" tall, and weighing around 120 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Her distinguishing features include scars on her forehead, left eyebrow, and right knee, as well as a mole on her left shoulder. She also has pierced ears and a protruding top tooth. It is noted that she only speaks Spanish.

The investigation into Diane's disappearance is being handled by the Puerto Rico Police. Her case is listed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children under case number 875108, and she is also listed in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System as case number MP5810.
