In the small community of Concrete, Washington, the life of 37-year-old Krista Hunt came to a tragic and untimely end. She was last seen on or around January 25th near the Lone Star Restaurant in Concrete. Witnesses reported seeing her with her boyfriend, with whom she allegedly got into his truck. The investigation into Krista's disappearance soon uncovered a disturbing history of domestic abuse. Her mother, Pamela Hunt, revealed that her daughter's boyfriend had been abusive, alleging that he had previously hospitalized Krista. Two weeks before she went missing, her mother had picked her up from a train station after being brought there by the Skagit County Sheriff's Office. At that time, she was reportedly covered in bruises, had two black eyes, had been strangled, and suffered a broken leg. Doctors had warned that another strangulation attempt could be fatal. Following the discovery, Krista's boyfriend, Juan Delgado, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with her death.
