On June 18, 2005, 69-year-old Robert Fredrick Ayers went missing after his single-engine Piper PA28 Cherokee airplane crashed on Mount Shasta in Northern California. Ayers was en route from San Diego to his home in Washington when the incident occurred. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a White male, 6'4" tall, and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
