In the fall of 2019, 38-year-old Valerie Ingorvaia, a mother of five from San Antonio, Texas, traveled to Fort Worth to celebrate Thanksgiving with her family. She was last seen on November 29, 2019, the day after Thanksgiving, when she was expected to make the return trip home to San Antonio. At the time of her disappearance, Valerie was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed around 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She has multiple tattoos, including a distinctive red diamond on the back of her upper left arm and the phrase "I love Chubby Bunny" on her chest. When she was last seen, she was wearing a red tank top, gray sweatpants, and blue jeans. Valerie also requires medication for seizures and wears glasses. Valerie's family grew concerned when she did not return to San Antonio as planned and they were unable to reach her. Her sister was able to use a tracking app to find Valerie's last known location on Highway 173, between Castroville and Hondo. The location tracker on her phone was turned off at 10:22 a.m. on November 29, an action her family described as uncharacteristic. In a deeply concerning discovery, her family later found her phone and bloody clothing in that same area. The items were handed over to the Medina County authorities. It was also reported that the black four-door truck she was believed to be traveling in was later found burnt in Castroville. The investigation into Valerie's disappearance has been handled by both the Fort Worth and San Antonio police departments. A man named Chance Stelzig, who had accompanied Valerie to the Thanksgiving gathering in Fort Worth, has been identified as a person of interest in her case. Valerie's family was not aware of her relationship with him prior to her disappearance. Less than two weeks before Valerie went missing, Stelzig was charged with a murder that occurred in San Antonio. He has reportedly denied knowing Valerie, a claim her sister disputes, citing numerous photos of them together from Valerie's Snapchat. The connection, if any, between this prior crime and Valerie's disappearance remains unclear. The case of Valerie Ingorvaia is a distressing one, leaving a family without answers and five children without their mother.
