Happy Mary Charles, a 42-year-old woman, was last seen in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, on April 3, 2017. Her last known location was in the vicinity of the Prince Albert Collegiate Institute and Kinsmen Park. Security footage from that evening shows her walking alone. In the days leading up to her disappearance, Happy had been in contact with her family. She had traveled to Prince Albert from La Ronge on April 1, 2017. The day before she was last seen, she had informed a family member that she was at the Prince Albert Inn. Surveillance video also captured her at a local Walmart with her boyfriend earlier on the day she vanished. The investigation into Happy's disappearance has been ongoing for several years, with the Prince Albert Police Service exploring multiple leads and receiving over 100 tips. Authorities have released screenshots from security footage of a man they believe may have information pertinent to the case. Despite numerous efforts, including searches of rural areas outside the city based on public tips, no trace of Happy has been found. In December 2019, the discovery of human remains near Prince Albert brought a brief but ultimately unfounded fear that she had been located. Her family has also been active in the search, following up on tips, such as one received in July 2023 via a social media page dedicated to finding her. Happy's family, including her parents and four daughters, have spoken about the pain and trauma of not knowing what happened to their loved one. They have organized awareness walks and participated in police appeals for information, expressing their primary desire to bring her home. The case remains an active missing person investigation. Happy is described as having brown eyes, black hair, a scar on her left cheek, and a tattoo of a rose on her right hand. When she was last seen, she was wearing a long dark jacket over a leather jacket, sweatpants, white shoes, a dark baseball cap, and dark-framed eyeglasses, and was carrying a black backpack and a white plastic bag. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance have left her family and community with unanswered questions as they continue to hope for her return.
