In the early morning hours of September 30, 2006, a 22-year-old man named Aaron Charles Derbyshire vanished from Kelowna, British Columbia. He had been enjoying a night out with friends at the Level Night Club, formerly known as Splashes, located on Leon Avenue. Just before 1:40 a.m., an altercation broke out in front of the club, drawing the attention of many patrons, including Aaron's friends who went outside to see what was happening. Aaron, however, remained inside the nightclub. This was the last confirmed sighting of him. When his friends returned, he was nowhere to be found. His disappearance was completely out of character, leaving his family and friends deeply concerned. Aaron was described as a Caucasian male with brown hair and blue eyes, standing 5'10" tall. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a button-up shirt and dark jeans. The days following Aaron's disappearance were filled with mounting worry. He was officially reported missing on October 3, 2006, after he failed to show up for a planned family rafting trip. The investigation into his whereabouts began, but authorities were immediately faced with challenges. The security cameras at the nightclub were not operational on the night he vanished, leaving a critical gap in the timeline of events. Investigators interviewed nearly 300 witnesses in an effort to piece together what happened to Aaron, but no definitive leads emerged. His bank account remained untouched, and there was no indication that he had planned to leave. Aaron had his whole life ahead of him; he had recently graduated with a civil engineering certificate from Okanagan College and was working as a land surveyor. He was in a serious relationship and had plans to get engaged. Years have passed since Aaron Derbyshire was last seen, but the search for answers continues. His family remains hopeful that someone, somewhere has information that could bring them closure. The Kelowna RCMP have stated that even a seemingly minor detail could be the key to solving this long-standing mystery. The case of Aaron's disappearance is a perplexing one, marked by a frustrating lack of evidence and the sudden, unexplained absence of a young man on the cusp of his future. Despite extensive efforts by law enforcement and heartfelt pleas from his loved ones, what happened to Aaron Charles Derbyshire after his friends walked out of the nightclub that September night remains unknown.
