In the summer of 2016, 43-year-old Conrad Roderick Jason Ducharme, a man known to his loved ones as Jason, embarked on a journey on foot that would lead to his disappearance. He was last seen on July 26, 2016, in the town of Manning, Alberta. Ducharme, who was from the Paddle Prairie Settlement, was reportedly hitchhiking to Dixonville for a meeting. He was known to travel long distances on foot and would often stay with various friends and relatives along his routes. Initially, his family wasn't immediately alarmed, assuming he was with someone he knew. However, as time passed with no contact, concern began to grow, especially when he uncharacteristically missed his young son Logan's birthday at the end of July. The family's growing unease prompted them to report him missing on October 25, 2016, as they had not heard from him in two months. At the time of his disappearance, Conrad was described as a Metis male, standing at 5'10" and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. A distinctive feature noted by those who knew him was a noticeable mole to the right of his eye. He had no known tattoos or piercings. The investigation into his disappearance involved numerous RCMP detachments, the Alberta RCMP Missing Persons Unit, and RCMP Police Dog Services, all working in concert with concerned family and friends who aided in the search efforts. Years have passed since Conrad Ducharme was last seen, and his case remains an open and ongoing investigation. His sister, Doreen, has publicly shared the family's pain, stating, "Jason, we have searched everywhere possible and we couldn't find you. It's been particularly hard on your family, especially your young son Logan. We love you, we miss you and we want you to come home." The extensive search and investigation, despite vigorous efforts, have not yet led to locating him.
