He was last seen in the Thompson area on July 14, 2015. Three days later, on July 17, after he failed to make his customary phone calls, his family reported him missing to the Thompson RCMP. At the time of his disappearance, Raymond was described as an Aboriginal man, standing approximately six feet tall with a thin build, black and grey hair, brown eyes, and a small mustache. He had two distinguishing tattoos: an eagle on his left hand and the letter "M" on his left arm. The last clothing he was known to be wearing consisted of navy pants with strings, a grey t-shirt, and brown running shoes. The sudden silence from Raymond was deeply unsettling for his wife, Marilyn, and their large family. She recounted that her husband had been staying in Thompson for a few months, and they maintained regular contact every couple of days. When the calls stopped, a sense of dread prompted her to travel to Thompson to search for him herself. After her efforts yielded no results, she turned to the RCMP for help. The absence of Raymond, a husband, father of seven, and grandfather to eighteen, left a significant void in his family. His wife spoke of the immense difficulty of each passing day, with their grandchildren constantly asking for their grandfather, a question she had no answer for.
