At 28 years old, Randal, a male of mixed Black and Caucasian heritage, left his home around 5:30 p.m. with the intention of traveling to the nearby community of New Summerfield. He was never seen or heard from again. The journey between the two towns is a mere ten miles, a short distance that held the promise of a routine trip. At the time of his disappearance, Roberson was described as being 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing approximately 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue t-shirt, black wind pants, a black baseball cap, and black and blue Nike Air Jordan shoes. He also wore a silver-colored necklace. Two days after he was last seen, a significant but perplexing discovery was made. Roberson's white 1995 Mercury Cougar was found abandoned on a county road just north of New Summerfield. The vehicle appeared to be in good condition, showing no signs of an accident or struggle, which only deepened the concern and confusion surrounding his sudden vanishing. Family members grew increasingly worried, stating that it was highly uncharacteristic of Randal not to be in contact with them. As the investigation began, authorities from the Jacksonville Police Department urged the public to come forward with any information. As weeks turned into months with no sign of Roberson, the investigation began to uncover more troubling details. Detectives suspected foul play, noting the complete lack of activity on his cell phone and financial accounts since his disappearance. Investigators revealed that Roberson may have been involved in narcotics trafficking, specifically methamphetamine.
