In the spring of 1974, a 21-year-old man named Brian Henry vanished from North Bay, Ontario, leaving behind a mystery that has endured for decades. On May 5th, Brian, an enthusiastic birdwatcher, was given a ride by his father to Canadore College. His father was working a 4 p.m. to midnight shift at the college, and Brian planned to spend his time exploring the nearby nature trails. An arrangement was made for Brian to meet his father at his car in the parking lot at midnight to be driven home. As midnight came and went, Brian Henry did not appear at his father's car as planned. His father, assuming his son might have decided to walk home, was not initially alarmed. However, upon arriving home, he learned that Brian had not returned. Concern quickly grew, and by the early morning hours of May 6th, his father had contacted a friend in the North Bay Police Department. Together, they returned to the trails at Canadore College to search for Brian, but their efforts were in vain. A more organized search with a group of friends was also conducted that morning, but it too yielded no signs of the missing young man. The official search that followed involved the Ontario Provincial Police canine unit and divers who scoured the pond at Canadore College, but no trace of Brian was ever found. At the time of his disappearance, the trails at the college were not as established as they are today, leading to speculation that he may have wandered off the path and become lost. Brian was described as being 5'6" tall with a slight build, short brown hair, brown eyes, and he wore distinctive thick, black-framed glasses. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a denim jacket with a "Coca Cola" logo on the left pocket, a black cowboy or scout-style hat, and black boots. Despite extensive searches and the passage of many years, no clues have ever surfaced to explain what happened to Brian Henry, and his disappearance remains an unsolved missing person case.
