He was described as a white male, approximately 5'10" tall with a thin build, weighing around 160 pounds. He had short grey hair, a grey mustache, and grey eyes, and was also known to sometimes wear a grey beard. Authorities acknowledged that the clothing he was wearing at the time of his disappearance was unknown. The renewed search coincided with the time of year when people would be returning to the area to open up cabins for the season, and police urged the public to be vigilant for any suspicious signs and to report any information that could help bring answers to his family. The case remains a poignant and unresolved story of a man who ventured into the wilderness and vanished, leaving behind only his car and a lingering mystery. The discovery of his abandoned vehicle confirmed he reached the remote hunting area, but what happened after he parked his car at the end of that logging road remains unknown.
