In the late summer of 2025, concern began to grow for 28-year-old Sean Adam Glenn McCready. He was last seen at his home in Sherwood Park, Alberta, around noon on September 1, 2025. Described as a male with a slender build, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 119 pounds, Sean had long, curly brown hair, brown eyes, and a goatee. When he was last seen, he was wearing black and grey Skechers shoes with grey soles.
Authorities also noted he might have been carrying a black, small, waterproof roll-top backpack, similar to those used by cyclists, and possibly wearing a 'Stormtek' brand hooded jacket.
The circumstances surrounding Sean's disappearance are particularly worrying to his family and law enforcement because it was highly out of character for him. His family described him as a 'voluntary shut-in' who spent most of his time at home either playing or creating video games, or watching videos online. He did not have a habit of taking walks or leaving the house for extended periods. His parents had been away and returned on a Sunday evening to an empty house. They discovered that Sean's phone had been off or dead for about 24 hours by that point and could not be located. It is unknown if he left on foot or by some form of transportation, as he did not take a vehicle.
The Strathcona County RCMP were notified and began an investigation, seeking assistance from the public for any information regarding his whereabouts. His well-being is a primary concern for investigators and his loved ones. The case of Sean McCready is a somber reminder of how quickly someone can vanish, leaving behind a void of information and a family desperate for answers. The lack of clarity on whether he left on his own or met with foul play has left the investigation open and active. Law enforcement continues to ask anyone with information to come forward.Last Seen: Sep 1, 2025
