In the autumn of 2015, a 33-year-old woman named Erin McGonigal was on the verge of a new beginning in Mississauga, Ontario. She was in the process of separating from her husband and was preparing to move out of their shared residence. Known to be active on social media and planning for her future, her digital presence abruptly ceased. She was last seen on October 6, 2015, reportedly leaving her home on Cedar Creek Lane. In the days that followed, an unsettling silence grew. Her phone went unanswered, and she made no contact with her circle of friends or family, a behavior that was out of character for the typically connected woman. This lack of communication was the first indication to those who knew her that something was amiss. The days turned into weeks, and concern among her friends mounted. Nearly seven weeks after she was last seen, on November 24, 2015, a missing person report was filed with Peel Regional Police. Notably, it was a group of her friends who made the official report, not her husband or other family members. At the time of her disappearance, Erin was described as a white female, standing 5'4" tall and weighing around 126 pounds, with a thin build. She had long, straight brown hair, which she was known to sometimes dye blonde. Two distinctive tattoos adorned her back: a sun and moon between her shoulder blades and the "Peterbilt" truck logo on her lower back. Erin also used several aliases, including Portia Elizabeth Westendorp, Portia Devine, and Erin Irene Mattar. The investigation into Erin's disappearance has stretched on for years, leaving her loved ones with a painful void and a host of unanswered questions. Investigators learned that she worked in the adult entertainment industry, which led them to expand their search to other areas, including Windsor, Ontario, where they explored potential connections within local clubs. Despite these efforts and appeals to the public for information, her case has grown cold. The circumstances surrounding the days leading up to her disappearance, including her planned separation, and the 49-day gap before she was officially reported missing, have created a complex and troubling mystery. To this day, there has been no contact from Erin and her whereabouts remain unknown, leaving a case that continues to haunt those who knew her and the investigators who have searched for answers.
