In the summer of 1993, a 22-year-old man named Glen Moquin vanished from a summer camp in Rollet, Quebec, leaving behind a mysterious and enduring puzzle for his family and investigators. On August 9th, Glen, who was described by his loved ones as a happy and smiling young man, was working at the camp's kitchen. Earlier that morning, he had complained of a severe headache and spent some time resting at the camp's nursery before returning for the lunch service. Not long after, he told a coworker he was still feeling unwell and was going back to his cabin to rest. This was the last time he was reportedly seen by anyone at the camp. Later that day, when the camp owner went to check on him, Glen was not in his cabin or the nursery. A search of the immediate camp area yielded no sign of him. The official search for Glen Moquin began on August 11, 1993, involving over 40 people, police dogs, and helicopters canvassing the dense woods surrounding the Joli-B camp. A few hours into the search, a police dog made a discovery in the forest near a swamp: Glen's shirt and shorts were found impeccably folded on the ground. A short distance away, his wallet was also located. Curiously, while his identification was inside, all of his money and bank cards were missing. His old pair of shoes was found near his clothes, but a new pair of shoes and a watch he had recently purchased were gone, along with his underwear. Despite extensive searches of the area, including the nearby swamp, no further trace of Glen was ever found. The theory of accidental drowning was dismissed after thorough searches of the swamp proved fruitless. Over the years, several theories have been considered to explain Glen's disappearance. Investigators briefly looked into the possibility of suicide, but his family strongly believes this is unlikely, citing his happy disposition and deeply held Christian beliefs which went against such an act. Another theory is that Glen may have chosen to disappear and start a new life elsewhere, which could explain the missing money, cards, and new belongings. The discovery of his neatly folded clothes and discarded ID has fueled speculation about this possibility. It has also been suggested that he could have developed amnesia. The case remains an unsolved and mysterious disappearance. Despite the passage of time, Glen's family has not given up hope, and the Sûreté du Québec continues to list him as a missing person, with his case file remaining open.
