In the late summer of 1992, a young man named Stephane Murray, who was 28 years old at the time and originally from the La Malbaie area of Quebec, had his life ahead of him. On September 23rd of that year, he had an appointment in the Beauport sector of Quebec City. He left his residence to attend to this engagement, a seemingly routine event in an ordinary day. However, what started as a normal day would become a long and painful mystery for his loved ones. Stephane Murray was never seen or heard from again after he set out for his appointment. The hours turned into days, and with no word from him, a profound sense of unease began to settle in among his family and friends. A few days after his disappearance, a significant, yet grim, discovery was made. The vehicle that Stephane had been driving was found abandoned in the parking lot of the scenic Montmorency Falls, a popular tourist destination not far from where he was last seen. The discovery of the empty car at such a location, with no sign of its driver, only deepened the mystery and heightened the growing fears for his safety. The Sûreté du Québec, the provincial police force, was brought in to investigate the unsettling disappearance. The circumstances surrounding his last known whereabouts and the location of his abandoned vehicle quickly led investigators to suspect that he had not vanished of his own accord. The investigation into Stephane Murray's disappearance has continued for many years, but definitive answers have remained elusive. Over time, the authorities began to treat his case as a homicide, believing that he had met with foul play. Despite their suspicions, no one has ever been charged in connection with his disappearance, and tragically, his body has never been recovered. The case has become one of Quebec's long-standing unsolved mysteries, a cold case that continues to hold the hope of a resolution for his family. The Sûreté du Québec has kept the file open, and they continue to appeal to the public for any information that might shed light on what happened to Stephane Murray on that September day in 1992. The overview of the case is one of a sudden and unexplained disappearance that is strongly suspected to be a homicide, leaving a family with unanswered questions and the enduring pain of not knowing the fate of their loved one.
