In the spring of 2023, a young professional named Sridhar Nidammanuri, aged 26, vanished from his life in Montreal, Quebec, leaving behind a community in deep concern. Originally from Andhra Pradesh, India, Sridhar had moved to Canada about three years prior and was working as a financial analyst. On the evening of Friday, April 21, 2023, he was last seen by his roommate at their apartment in the Ville-Marie borough. Later that night, around 11:30 p.m., he was reportedly seen near the intersection of de Maisonneuve Boulevard and Guy Street. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 176 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was believed to be wearing a red t-shirt with white stripes and grey shorts. The initial alarm was raised when Sridhar, a man described as a hardworking and reliable employee, failed to show up for his job at BNP Paribas on the following Monday. His employer, unable to reach him, contacted his roommate, who was listed as his emergency contact. This set off a chain of worried communication, as friends and family realized no one had heard from him. The concern escalated when it was discovered that Sridhar had left all his personal belongings behind in his apartment, including his wallet, mobile phone, passport, and bank cards. Friends noted that this was highly uncharacteristic, as he had no known history of depression or drug use and had never gone off on his own like this before. His family back in India was left devastated and frantic for news. In response to his disappearance, the Montreal police (SPVM) issued public appeals for assistance and launched an investigation, stating they had reason to fear for his health and safety. A command post was established in downtown Montreal in the area where he was last seen, hoping to gather new leads from the public. Montreal's Telugu community rallied together, organizing a walk and working to raise awareness about his case. The case of Sridhar Nidammanuri is a distressing one, marked by the sudden and unexplained nature of his disappearance. He seemingly vanished on foot from a busy area of the city, leaving behind all personal identification and communication devices, which has made the search particularly challenging for investigators and agonizing for his loved ones. The community's collective effort underscores the deep impact of his absence and the urgent hope for his safe return.
