The initial alarm was raised when Sridhar, a man described as a hardworking and reliable employee, failed to show up for his job at BNP Paribas on the following Monday. His employer, unable to reach him, contacted his roommate, who was listed as his emergency contact. This set off a chain of worried communication, as friends and family realized no one had heard from him. The concern escalated when it was discovered that Sridhar had left all his personal belongings behind in his apartment, including his wallet, mobile phone, passport, and bank cards. Friends noted that this was highly uncharacteristic, as he had no known history of depression or drug use and had never gone off on his own like this before. In response to his disappearance, the Montreal police (SPVM) issued public appeals for assistance and launched an investigation, stating they had reason to fear for his health and safety.
