On what was his 28th birthday, January 9, 2017, a man named Landry Ntwari traveled from his residence in Burlington, Ontario, to the Fallsview Tourist Area of Niagara Falls. He checked into a hotel in the downtown area to celebrate. This trip was noted by those who knew him as being his sixth visit to the city since October of the previous year, a frequency that was not understood by his family or law enforcement. The following evening, on January 10th, at approximately 7:15 p.m., Landry was seen on video surveillance leaving his hotel, which was located near the intersection of Fallsview Boulevard and Dunn Street. He has not been seen or heard from since that time. Described as a Black male, standing approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 154 pounds, Landry had short, curly black hair. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a dark winter jacket with grey sleeves, tan-colored pants, and black shoes. He was also carrying a small tan backpack and wearing a distinctive red and white checkered scarf. Following his disappearance, some of his personal belongings were discovered left behind in his hotel room. The reasons for his repeated visits to Niagara Falls remain a mystery, as there was no indication that he was involved in gambling or had plans to cross the border into the United States. The investigation into Landry Ntwari's disappearance has left his family and authorities with many unanswered questions. He was known to be a private individual who did not maintain a large circle of close friends. Despite his frequent trips to Niagara Falls, he was reportedly not recognized by staff at the hotels he frequented. The lack of contact or any credible sightings since January 10, 2017, has created a void of information. The case remains an active missing person investigation, a quiet and sorrowful mystery centered on a man who vanished on the day after his birthday in a bustling tourist city.
