In the summer of 2007, a quiet disappearance began to unfold in New Brunswick. Jack Harold Nutter, a 65-year-old man from Dieppe, had his last known contact with his family in July of that year. Mr. Nutter lived a life that involved limited, though still present, contact with his relatives. The last confirmed activity was his attendance at a medical appointment in Moncton in June 2007, after which he was not seen again. For many months, his absence was not officially noted. It wasn't until nearly two years later, in April 2009, that his family officially reported him as a missing person to the authorities. The circumstances surrounding Jack Nutter's disappearance quickly led investigators to deem it suspicious. This wasn't a case of someone simply choosing to sever ties; his patterns of life abruptly ceased. He stopped attending his routine appointments and, significantly, stopped checking on a rental property he owned on Université Avenue in Moncton. These breaks in his established habits were a cause for great concern for both his family and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). At the time he was last seen, Mr. Nutter was described as having a thin build, standing at approximately five feet seven inches tall, and weighing around 145 pounds. He had brown eyes and grey hair. Over the years, the investigation into what happened to Jack Nutter has remained open, handled by the RCMP's Major Crime Unit. Police have pursued various leads and have periodically re-issued pleas to the public for any information that might shed light on the case. His children, Kathy and Jimmy Nutter, released a statement more than a decade after he was last heard from, expressing the enduring pain of not knowing their father's fate and emphasizing that his disappearance was completely out of character. The case is an enduring mystery, a story of a man who vanished from his life, leaving behind unanswered questions and a family left waiting for answers.
