In the autumn of 2024, 63-year-old Kendall Paul traveled from his home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to visit a friend in Kenora, Ontario. He was last seen on October 13th of that year. Concern for his well-being grew when he left his friend's residence on Park Street sometime between the late hours of October 13th and the morning of October 14th and did not return. Kendall, an Indigenous man, was known to have a history of health issues and it was feared he did not have his necessary medications with him. He is described as being 5'5" tall, weighing 160 pounds, with short, grey hair and a distinctive Mohawk tattoo on his right arm. As time passed with no word from Kendall, his family and community grew increasingly worried. There was no activity on his bank or medical cards, indicating he had not accessed funds or sought medical attention. He was known to frequent not only Kenora and Winnipeg but also many of the outlying First Nation communities. The Ontario Provincial Police in Kenora were involved in the investigation and sought information from the public. Volunteers and community members, including the Makwa Patrol, organized search parties in the Kenora area to look for any sign of the missing man, demonstrating the community's dedication to bringing him home. Tragically, in May of 2026, it was announced that Kendall had been found deceased. His remains were to be sent for DNA testing to officially confirm his identity. The discovery brought a sad conclusion to the nearly two-year search. This case is a heartbreaking example of the uncertainty and pain that families of missing persons endure. The search for Kendall Paul involved his family, law enforcement, and community members who held out hope for his safe return, a hope that ultimately ended in a sorrowful resolution, finally providing his loved ones with a sense of closure.
