In the late days of March 2014, concern began to grow for Nicola Pece, a 51-year-old man from Terrebonne, Quebec. He was last seen on March 28 in the nearby community of Mascouche, and from that point on, his loved ones received no further communication from him. At the time he went missing, Mr. Pece, who speaks English, French, and Italian, was described as standing 1.68 meters tall (5 feet 6 inches) and weighing 65 kilograms (144 pounds), with black hair and brown eyes. When he was last seen, he was wearing a khaki green coat over a hooded sweatshirt, distinctive Parasuco jeans adorned with many patches, and a pair of beige boots. His disappearance triggered an appeal for public assistance from the Sûreté du Québec as his family waited for any news. The investigation into Nicola Pece's whereabouts took a significant turn when the vehicle he was known to be driving, a grey Mercedes C300 with the license plate FJJ 6100, was discovered abandoned. The car was not found in Mascouche where he was last seen, nor in his hometown of Terrebonne, but was located in the Montréal-Nord borough, on d'Amos street. This discovery raised more questions than answers, leaving investigators and his family to wonder how and why his car ended up in that location. The recovery of the vehicle marked a critical point in the case, shifting the focus of the search and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding his vanishing. In the course of their investigation, authorities made a public plea for a specific potential witness to come forward. Police announced they were trying to identify and speak with a woman, estimated to be around 40 years old, who was seen in the Montréal-Nord area on March 30, just two days after Mr. Pece was last seen. This woman was noted for wearing a striped blue and black coat by the brand O'Neil. Authorities believed she might hold important information that could shed light on the case. Despite the discovery of his car and the appeal for a key witness, the case has remained unresolved. The disappearance of Nicola Pece is an ongoing investigation, a painful mystery for a family that has been without answers for years, leaving a void of uncertainty and a lingering hope for resolution.
