On October 14, he was last seen at a gas station at the intersection of Highway 11 and Highway 312 in Rosthern, Saskatchewan. An avid and experienced camper, Leslie was on his gold Kona 10-speed bicycle, equipped with saddlebags and a sleeping bag, with the intention of traveling to Prince Albert. It was not unusual for him to spend extended periods outdoors, but he had a consistent habit of checking in with his loved ones, a habit that was broken in the weeks that followed. The official missing person report was filed with the Rosthern RCMP on December 22, 2021, prompting a public appeal for information. As winter set in, concerns for Leslie's well-being intensified due to the dangerously cold weather and snowfall. Investigators asked residents and property owners along the route from Rosthern to Prince Albert to check their land and outbuildings for any sign of him or his belongings. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, including searching areas he was known to travel and following up on public tips, no significant leads emerged. His sister expressed the family's anguish, stating, "It's just like he's vanished." A year after he was last seen, the Saskatchewan RCMP renewed their plea for public assistance, releasing a previously unseen photo of Leslie with his distinctive bicycle in the hope of jogging someone's memory. He is described as being approximately 5'10" to 5'11" tall, weighing 190 pounds, with brown, balding hair and hazel eyes. The bicycle he was riding was a gold Kona 10-speed, uniquely outfitted with saddlebags on each side and a sleeping bag attached to the handlebars. The investigation into Leslie Peesker's disappearance remains open, a painful and unresolved chapter for his family who continue to hope for any information that might explain what happened to him after he set out on his bicycle that fall day.
