In the fall of 2008, a 22-year-old Indigenous woman named Anne Rose Marie Peters vanished from Mission, British Columbia. She was last definitively seen on September 13, 2008, although she was not officially reported as a missing person until nearly a month later, on October 11th. At the time she went missing, Anne was described as having a slender build, standing at 5'11" and weighing around 95 pounds. She had long brown hair and brown eyes. Her disappearance left her family searching for answers and a community concerned for her welfare. Anne was known to frequent the downtown area of Mission. At the time of her disappearance, she was facing personal challenges, including a struggle with drug addiction. It has been noted that she was involved in a street-level lifestyle, which may have increased her vulnerability. Despite the passage of time, her family has not given up hope of bringing her home and continues to seek information regarding her whereabouts. The lack of information and the circumstances surrounding her life at the time she went missing have made the investigation particularly complex for the Mission RCMP, who have been handling her case from the beginning. The investigation into Anne Rose Marie Peters' disappearance remains open.
