Tara has noticeable scarring on her face and body. When she was last seen, she was wearing a long black leather coat, black jeans, and black shoes, and was carrying a pink backpack. The days turned into weeks, and with no word from Tara, she was officially reported missing on June 6, 2019. The Ottawa Police Service initiated a missing person investigation, which was later assisted by the North Bay Police Service due to the possibility that she may be in their jurisdiction. Despite public appeals for information and ongoing investigative efforts, Tara's whereabouts remain unknown.
