On a summer day in June of 1967, Stanley Joseph Sczcygiel was enjoying a fishing trip in the serene wilderness of Red Lake, Ontario. The male visitor from the United States was on the Berens River with two companions when the unthinkable happened. The powerful current of the river swept all three individuals over a waterfall in a sudden and terrifying turn of events. While his two friends managed to survive the harrowing ordeal, Stanley vanished into the turbulent waters below. In the aftermath of the accident, search efforts were undertaken to locate Stanley. At the time of his disappearance on June 18, 1967, he was described as a white male, standing 69 inches tall and weighing approximately 161 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.
