In the early morning hours of May 26, 2015, 32-year-old Kandice Marie Singbeil was seen on video surveillance riding her distinctive Supercycle Cruiser Classic bicycle through the downtown streets of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A mother of two, a son who was eight and an infant daughter who was only two months old, Kandice had moved to Saskatoon a few years earlier with dreams for an independent life. However, she had fallen into a difficult life involving drug addiction and was living on the streets at the time she vanished. Known as 'Kae' to her friends and family, her last known movements were captured in the 200 block of Third Avenue South. After that sighting, neither Kandice nor her unique bicycle with its whitewall tires and faux wood-grain chain guard have ever been seen again. Kandice was officially reported missing to the Saskatoon Police Service on May 28, 2015, by her boyfriend. Initially treated as a missing person's case, the investigation quickly evolved and is now considered a homicide investigation. Investigators believe she was in a vulnerable state at the time of her disappearance and have looked into the possibility that she was in an abusive relationship. Police have interviewed more than 100 people and followed up on numerous tips, including reported sightings from Ontario to British Columbia, none of which have been confirmed. Extensive searches have been conducted in various parts of the city, including along the riverbank and at the landfill, in the hopes of finding any clue that could lead to answers. The authorities have noted that her involvement in a "high-risk lifestyle" has presented challenges in gathering direct information about what happened to her. Years have passed since Kandice Singbeil disappeared, but the search for answers continues relentlessly, driven by her family and the police. Her mother, who is now raising Kandice's two children, has spoken of the heartbreak of not knowing what happened to her daughter. The family actively works to keep her story in the public eye through social media and awareness campaigns, hoping that someone with information will finally come forward. The Saskatoon Police Service has also made sustained efforts to generate new leads, creating a video series and a podcast titled "Deals, Debts, & Death: The Disappearance of Kandice Singbeil," which delves into the investigation and the circumstances of her life. The case remains an open and active homicide investigation, a painful puzzle with missing pieces that her loved ones long to put together to find closure.
