In the early morning hours of October 16, 2017, 17-year-old Jordan Alexander Holling vanished while walking home in Campbell River, British Columbia. The night before, on October 15, he finished his shift at a local A&W restaurant and went to a friend's apartment on 16th Avenue, with plans to stay the night and go to work from there the next day. Friends reported a normal evening of listening to music and playing video games. At approximately 1:30 a.m., Jordan decided to walk the short distance to his mother's house on 17th Avenue. Surveillance footage captured him around 2:00 a.m. walking north on a southbound section of Highway 19 near 14th Avenue. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a grey long-sleeved sweatshirt, black pants, and black and red shoes.
The last known images of Jordan showed him walking for about two hours in the vicinity of 15th Avenue and Willow Street.
In the footage, a car was seen turning around and briefly stopping near him; however, the occupants were later identified and cleared by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Early in the surveillance recordings, Jordan was seen carrying his skateboard, but in the final footage, he no longer had it with him. He never arrived at his mother's home and failed to show up for his work shift later that day. Alarmed by his uncharacteristic absence, his family reported him missing to the Campbell River RCMP on the evening of October 16, 2017.
An extensive search was launched immediately, involving community members, Campbell River Search and Rescue, and search dogs. Searchers on foot, ATV, and horseback scoured nearby parks and wilderness areas. Jordan's skateboard was discovered near Highway 19 and 14th Avenue, in the area where he was last seen on video, but no other trace of him was found. Investigators examined his bank and cell phone records, but found no activity. His laptop was also analyzed but yielded no clues as to his whereabouts. Despite numerous tips and reported sightings over the years, none have been confirmed or led to a breakthrough in the case. His family has worked tirelessly to keep his memory alive through a dedicated Facebook page, flyers, and community vigils. The investigation into Jordan Holling's disappearance remains open and active, a painful and unresolved mystery for his family and community.Last Seen: Oct 16, 2017
