On a summer day in June of 2022, a 27-year-old man named Allan Josue Aguirre-Benitez vanished while on a journey through South Texas. He was last heard from on June 12, 2022, during a phone call he made while walking from McAllen toward Falfurrias, Texas. At the time of his disappearance, it was thought that he could have been in the vicinity of Brooks County. Allan, a Honduran national, stood between six feet and six feet one inch tall, with a slender build, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds. He had brown eyes and black hair that was styled with the sides shaved and left longer on top. His family and friends knew him for his vibrant personality and the close bonds he shared with them. Allan is distinguished by numerous tattoos that tell a story on his skin. His left arm is covered in a sleeve tattoo that includes a tiger near the top, a skull, and various other designs extending down to his wrist. On the side of his chest, he has a rose, a cross, and lyrics from an English song. His back features a tattoo of several birds on the left side. He has the words "ALWAYS FOR" tattooed above his right ankle and "FAMILY" above his left, both adorned with crowns. Additionally, he has tattoos on his legs inspired by the song "November Rain," including a guitar with the song's title and a portrait of Axl Rose. Other distinguishing features include piercings in both of his ears and his nose, and a scar on his right wrist. On the day he went missing, he was reportedly wearing olive green cargo pants, a blue or black shirt, and beige tennis shoes, possibly of the "Yeezy" brand. He carried a light blue backpack with a red flower pattern, a small black bag for his documents worn across his chest, and a black cap. The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation into Allan's disappearance, but a great deal of uncertainty still surrounds the case. In the time since he was last heard from, his family has worked to keep his story in the public eye, hoping for any information that might lead to his whereabouts. The area where Allan went missing is known for its difficult terrain, a factor that complicates search efforts.
