In the early summer of 2021, concern began to grow for 58-year-old Mark Eugene Whitsett in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was last seen in the city in June of that year, and as time passed with no word, his case was officially registered as a missing persons case. At the time he went missing, Whitsett was described as a Black male, standing between 5'11' and 6'2' tall and weighing between 170 and 200 pounds. He had black hair and brown eyes.
