On August 1, 1988, nine-year-old Petr Reutov was the victim of a boating accident in the waters of Cook Inlet, Alaska. He was aboard the 40-foot gillnet fishing vessel, the Yarmon, near the Kalgin Islands when he fell overboard. Also lost in the incident was 22-year-old Antip Kuzenetsov, who also fell into the water. The vessel ultimately sank 12 miles west of Ninilchik.
