In the summer of 1977, a young man named Richard Erchinger, just 19 years old, embarked on what should have been a memorable Alaskan adventure. On June 26th, he and a companion, Keith Zimmerman, were on a canoe trip on the beautiful and vast Kenai Lake, located in Seward, Alaska. This scenic outing, however, took a turn that would leave their families with decades of unanswered questions. The day wore on, and neither Richard nor Keith returned from their trip on the water.
