Blane Scot Curley, 25, was shot and killed on July 15, 2021, on the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark, Missouri, during a violent confrontation between rival motorcycle clubs that also left four people injured. Reports say the fight involved members of the Galloping Goose, Mongols, and Iron Celtics motorcycle clubs and escalated from a physical altercation into gunfire.
Tonka Way-Con Ponder, identified as a member of the Galloping Goose, is said to have fatally shot Curley. Daniel Kurtzeborn, also named as a Galloping Goose member, was identified as involved in the exchange of gunfire. Both men were taken into custody after the incident; initial state charges were filed, then later state-level charges against Ponder were dropped while Kurtzeborn’s state charge proceeded.
The investigation moved to the federal level and a racketeering indictment against multiple Galloping Goose members, including Ponder and Kurtzeborn, followed. Federal counts alleged violent crimes in aid of racketeering, discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, and various drug and firearms offenses. As of late 2024 both remained in federal custody with the case pending further hearings.
Did anyone who was in Lake Ozark that night or who knew Blane Curley witness the confrontation or its aftermath?
