On the afternoon of Sunday, December 13, 2020, 19-year-old Matthew A. Hill Jr. was found critically wounded by gunfire in the 132nd block of Winchester Avenue in Grandview, Missouri. Responding officers discovered him lying in front of a residence just after 12:30 p.m.; he was taken to a hospital and later pronounced dead.
Investigators say the shooting grew out of a narcotics transaction. Hill had gone to meet an acquaintance to buy about $140 worth of marijuana and reportedly entered the seller’s vehicle to make the exchange. The suspect, 21-year-old Alexis Denise-Marie Fisher, told police she became suspicious, and when Hill allegedly tried to leave with the drugs and money without paying she fired a 9mm pistol as he ran away. Police recovered the firearm from her vehicle along with bloody fingerprints and other evidence.
Prosecutors charged Fisher with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and delivery of a controlled substance, seeking bond of $250,000. Did anyone in Grandview see the transaction or the vehicle involved that afternoon?
