On July 24, 2020, officers in Bridgeton, Missouri, responded to Love’s Storage Solutions after reports that a security gate had been breached. A gray Dodge Ram registered to 28-year-old Cameron Gray had been used to smash through the facility’s exit gate. Gray’s body was found inside a storage unit about two hours after the breach.
Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives shows Gray working inside the unit for roughly four hours with an acquaintance. The video captures the acquaintance, identified as 27-year-old Michael Molinari of Overland, Missouri, picking up a handgun, racking the slide twice, then firing a single shot at Gray. Molinari is recorded shouting an insult, grabbing a box, and fleeing in Gray’s truck.
A warrant was issued charging Molinari with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, and two counts of armed criminal action. He did not meet with officers as planned and remained at large until the U.S. Marshals Service arrested him on October 23, 2020. Did anyone know Gray or see his truck or activity at the storage facility that morning?
