On July 5, 2020, a gathering near Volunteer Drive and Grace Lane in Columbia, Missouri, turned deadly after reports of gunfire. Officers arriving shortly after midnight found that celebratory fireworks had escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Two people were killed: 38-year-old Tara Lynn Knedler and an 11-year-old girl, Ri’ajauhna Robinson-Davis, described by police as an innocent bystander.
Tara Lynn Knedler, known to many as Momma T, was a mother of six — Markees, Taurean, Tyrah, Re’ionna, Rockheil, and TiAnna — and ran a local cleaning business. Friends and family remembered her as bright and energetic who often helped neighborhood children by giving them rides to activities.
Investigators said witnesses reported an altercation over fireworks and that multiple people may have fired weapons. A 16-year-old male was detained; prosecutors later identified him as Iseah Jackson, sought certification to try him as an adult, and obtained a grand jury indictment with counts including two counts of second-degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. Who has information about that night or knew the victims’ activities in that neighborhood?
