Michael Moore, 52, was found with a gunshot wound in the front yard of a home on the 7300 block of Sapphire Avenue in Jennings, Missouri, on the night of December 16, 2019. Officers arrived about 11:05 p.m.; Moore was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Investigators say the killing followed an earlier confrontation in St. Louis County: that day Edward Mosely discovered Moore having sex with Mosely’s girlfriend. Mosely pursued Moore to Jennings, approached him from behind on Sapphire Avenue and shot him multiple times. Mosely later confessed to the shooting, saying he killed Moore because he felt disrespected.

Mosely was charged with first-degree murder but a jury convicted him in June 2023 of voluntary manslaughter and armed criminal action. Sentencing was set for August 15, 2023. Does anyone have information about Michael’s movements that evening or witnessed the events on Sapphire Avenue?
