On March 24, 2019, a late-night shooting at a residence in the 2900 block of South Forest Avenue in Independence, Missouri, left 38-year-old Donald Lee McIntosh Jr. with multiple gunshot wounds. First responders found McIntosh in the master bedroom and he was taken to Centerpoint Medical Center, where he later died of his injuries.

Witness statements at the scene led investigators to identify 18-year-old Ingenue K. Persinger as a person of interest. Police located and interviewed Persinger the next day; court records say she admitted to shooting McIntosh multiple times while they were inside the home. The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office charged Persinger with second-degree murder and armed criminal action, and she was held on bond set at $200,000.

Are there readers who knew McIntosh or who have information about the events at that South Forest Avenue address?
