Monica Lynn Keenlance, 50, was found dead at a rest area along Interstate 55 near Marston, Missouri on October 31, 2018. Officers from the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol discovered her body near her parked vehicle and determined she had died of a gunshot wound; the death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators early on flagged a vehicle of interest: witnesses or surveillance reportedly showed a red SUV fleeing the scene around the time of the shooting. Authorities canvassed the area and worked with state troopers while seeking tips from the public, but no arrest was reported in the immediate days after the discovery. Keenlance, a Lewistown, Illinois resident, was remembered by family as a free spirit; the circumstances of the roadside killing remain under investigation.
Did anyone see a red SUV near the Marston rest area on October 31, 2018, or have information about Monica’s movements that day?
