In the early morning hours of September 30, 2018, Joseph Allen, 42, and his wife were shot and killed outside their home in Tunas, Missouri. The couple had been celebrating their wedding anniversary; their school-aged children were not at home. Investigators say the deaths occurred when the Allens interrupted an apparent attempted robbery while trying to protect their property. Their pickup truck was taken and later found in a wooded area about 15 miles from the residence.
The discovery was made that morning by Brandy Allen’s father, who had gone to check on nearby cattle. Surveillance video from local businesses helped identify two suspects, Billy Sage Medley and Jeffrey Dale Lee Stevenson. Stevenson was arrested October 3, 2018, and Medley was later captured in Oklahoma. Two other men were charged with abandonment of a corpse after authorities learned they had seen the bodies multiple times and did not report them.
What additional information do readers have about the area or the events that morning that could help investigators or the family?
