Elise’ise Q. McNeal was 34 when she was found dead inside a Columbia, Missouri, residence on Hatton Chapel Road. Deputies discovered her body on June 15, 2018, while investigating a report of stolen firearms. An autopsy determined she died of gunshot wounds, including a wound to the head, a wound to the torso, and facial injuries.
Investigators quickly identified 33-year-old Jason Roy Anderson of Boonville as a suspect. He had been apprehended the day before McNeal’s body was found after a confrontation with law enforcement in southwest Missouri; officers reported he aimed a .22-caliber rifle at a Christian County deputy and that numerous firearms and about 5,000 rounds of ammunition recovered from his vehicle were linked to the Hatton Chapel Road home. Court documents describe a troubled relationship between Anderson and McNeal, earlier arguments, and witnesses who saw Anderson point a rifle at her. One firearm found matched the murder weapon and blood on Anderson’s shoes matched McNeal’s DNA.
Boone County prosecutors charged Anderson with first-degree murder and armed criminal action; he also faced multiple felony charges in Christian County. A bond of $2 million was set for the Boone County murder charge. Does anyone have information about Elise’ise or the residence on Hatton Chapel Road that could help clarify what happened?
