James Hagerty Parker, 65, and his wife Sheri were found shot to death inside the living quarters of the Riverview RV Park and Campground main office in Lake Ozark, Missouri, after reports of gunfire on November 8, 2017. Both victims sustained fatal gunshot wounds. Shots were also fired into a nearby recreational vehicle, wounding another man who survived.
Investigators reviewed campground surveillance and identified a man resembling a former tenant. The person of interest was named as Gary Sweet, a 58-year-old from Rolla, Missouri, who had been evicted from the Riverview RV Park about one month before the shootings. Police said the eviction was viewed as the primary motive. Sweet was located and taken into custody without incident.
Prosecutors charged the suspect in connection with the deaths and related shootings. Does anyone who knew James and Sheri or who was at the campground that night have further information to share?
