Quonterio Davis was 23 when he was shot and killed at a New Year’s party in Jefferson City, Missouri, on January 1, 2017. Authorities were called after reports of a shooting at the gathering; Davis, a Jefferson City resident, was identified as the victim of the fatal gunfire.
Investigators concentrated on another partygoer, 26-year-old Jeffery Millens, after determining the two men had a personal connection: both Davis and Millens had children with the same woman. That personal conflict reportedly escalated during the celebration and ended with Millens shooting Davis.
In January 2021 Millens was found guilty of second-degree murder. A judge imposed a life sentence for the murder charge and ordered two consecutive ten-year terms for armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm to be served after the life term.
If anyone at the party or who knew Davis or Millens has information that wasn’t shared with authorities, please come forward.
