Eric Summerfield, 18, was fatally shot in Forsyth, Missouri, on October 15, 2016. A recent Forsyth High School graduate who had planned to join the United States Air Force, he was remembered for a kind personality and a promising future cut short by violence.

Authorities identified Joseph A. Johns-Tino, then 17, as a suspect after what investigators described as a dispute between the two teenagers that escalated. Johns-Tino was taken into custody and charged as an adult with second-degree murder and armed criminal action; he initially pleaded not guilty. The case later changed course when Johns-Tino entered a guilty plea to the lesser count of involuntary manslaughter and received a term of incarceration.

The community was left grieving a young life lost too soon. If anyone knew Eric, saw him the week of October 15, 2016, or has information about the events that led to his death, please come forward.
